The Fillmastic mixer competes with other Z-Blade mixers and Tri-shaft Disperser. There are three distinct parts to the units, the masticator, the anchor stirrer and the extruder. These three combine to give an extremely powerful processing unit, which is fast, energy efficient, and has excellent heat transfer coefficients. It provides fast and efficient discharge. The Fillmastic requires considerably lower capital outlay in comparison to a Z Blade mixer.

The Masticator consists of a series of flat plates with shaped pegs rotating within a few millimetres of each plate. This produces the fluid wedge to shear out the product. For final dispersion it is possible to fit either a heavy-duty high-speed disperser disc, or if fine dispersion is required, an FDD can be fitted. The masticator operates between zero and 1000 rpm forward and reverse.

Affixed to one end of the bottom arm is a helical arm, which spirals upwards through 180. The top of this helical is secured to the end of the bottom cross arm by a vertical tie bar. The tie bar serves to provide the necessary rigidity to the helical arm as well as forming a vertical scraper arm, rotating in close proximity to the sidewall of the vessel.

The Extruder is a high capacity unit, which can be employed in the mixing process, but is mainly for discharge of the product.
